OVER Token

OVER is the governance and economic coordination token of the Overlayer ecosystem.

Its role is additive rather than foundational. The protocol’s core accounting, redemption logic, and yield mechanics do not depend on OVER, and the protocol remains fully functional without it. OVER does not represent ownership, equity, or direct claims on protocol assets, reserves, or revenues.

According to the current token design, OVER is intended to coordinate governance, ecosystem incentives, liquidity architecture, grants, and access to selected advanced features. As the system expands, its relevance grows through coordination needs, deeper integrations, and broader economic activity across the ecosystem.

Under the current economic model, a portion of protocol revenue may be used for buybacks and other ecosystem functions. This creates a structural link between protocol activity, liquidity depth, and the demand surface around OVER. These flows are part of the token design, but they should not be understood as guarantees of appreciation, returns, or economic performance.

OVER exists to coordinate and reinforce the growth of the ecosystem, not to define the protocol’s validity. Its purpose is to align governance, incentives, liquidity, and long-term expansion around a protocol that remains operationally sound even in the token’s absence.
