Phase 0: ORIGIN Guide

ORIGIN is Phase 0 of the Overlayer journey. It is designed to guide users through the discovery of Overlayer and its ecosystem, starting from the protocol testnet.

Built around the Overlayer testnet, ORIGIN allows users to try the main protocol functions in a safe and free environment. The primary goal is to help users learn the protocol, discover bugs, identify frictions, and suggest improvements before the subsequent phases.

Campaign Overview

Everything runs on Ethereum Sepolia and uses testnet assets only. No real funds are required, and all assets used during Origin have no monetary value.

Minimum Requirements​

  • 1 X Account
  • 1 Discord Account
  • 1 EVM Wallet
  • Zero funds are required.

Participation Flow​

  1. Access the dApp: Navigate to the official dApp link.
  2. Connect Wallet: Securely connect your EVM wallet.
  3. Accept Terms: Read the disclosure and accept the terms of service.
  4. Follow Socials: Follow the Overlayer and founder X accounts.
  5. Join Community: Join the Discord server and retrieve your verification code.
  6. Claim Gas: Go to the faucet section and obtain Sepolia ETH by following the provided instructions.
  7. Mint NFT: Return to the Early User section and mint the Access NFT.
  8. Claim Tokens: Acquire testnet USDT and USDC from the faucet.
  9. Test Functions: Begin testing the various protocol functions.
  10. Climb Leaderboard: Earn points and ascend the leaderboard through daily tasks located in the Early User section.

Testnet Assets & Faucets​

To use the testnet dApp, users need testnet assets. Once users have testnet tokens, they can use them inside the Overlayer testnet dApp.

Prizes​

ORIGIN includes distinct prize tiers based on the points accumulated during Phase 0. Note: Only participants with 2,000 points or more will be considered eligible.

Top 33%​

  • ORIGIN NFT
  • 100% Points transfer to Phase 1

Top 50%​

  • 100% Points transfer to Phase 1

Extra Boosts​

TXs Boost​

Multiple snapshots will be taken during Phase 0. The more protocol transactions you complete, the higher your chances of receiving bonus points.

Bug Bounty​

You can report protocol bugs through the dedicated Discord channel (report-bug) and receive bonus points.

Galxe​

Complete quests on the Overlayer Galxe Space to earn bonus points. Every two weeks, a leaderboard snapshot will be taken on Galxe. Based on your leaderboard position, you may receive extra ORIGIN Points on the Overlayer dApp.

Rewards:

  • Top 25%: 5,000 ORIGIN Points
  • Top 25%–50%: 3,000 ORIGIN Points
  • Top 50%–75%: 1,000 ORIGIN Points

Requirement: To receive your reward, you must complete the "Transform Loyalty into Points" quest. You have until the end of the campaign to complete it and claim your rewards.

Zealy​

Complete quests on the Overlayer Zealy Space (Zealy Questboard) to earn bonus points. (Rewarding system coming soon)

Important Notes
  • Testnet Environment: ORIGIN runs on a testnet; its assets have no monetary value.
  • Security First: Never send real funds to testnet contracts. Never share your seed phrase or private keys. The Overlayer team will never direct message (DM) you first.
  • Support & Feedback: For support, use the open-ticket channel. For campaign feedback, use the campaign-feedback channel.
