Reward Pool & Season TVL

VISION’s Reward Pool is the amount of OVER allocated to the Farming Season. It ranges from 1% to 10% of the total OVER supply, depending on the protocol’s Season Average TVL.

The pool rewards sustained participation: its size depends on the outstanding Overlaid Asset supply throughout the season, not the TVL reached on a single day.

What Season Average TVL measures

Season Average TVL is the time-weighted average of the global outstanding Overlaid Asset supply over the full season. Each Overlaid Asset is counted nominally as $1 for this calculation.

This is a protocol-wide supply measure across supported chains, not just the assets deposited in Farming. The nominal dollar value is an accounting convention for the season, rather than a measurement of each token’s market price.

Two factors therefore matter: how much supply is outstanding and how long it remains outstanding during the season.

Reward pool milestones

The final Season Average TVL determines which allocation applies. The token amounts below use OVER’s fixed maximum supply of 1 billion tokens.

$200 million to below $300 million6%60 million OVER
$300 million to below $500 million8%80 million OVER
$500 million or more10%100 million OVER

Milestones are discrete: there is no interpolation between them. For example, a final Season Average TVL of $75 million activates the 2% allocation, not a percentage between 2% and 4%.

How the average is calculated

Each period contributes according to the global TVL maintained during that period and its duration. Those contributions are added together and divided by the full season duration.

For periods with a constant TVL, the calculation can be written as:

Season Average TVL = sum of (global TVL × time at that level) ÷ full season duration

The same principle applies when supply changes more frequently: each level contributes for the time it remains in effect.

Worked example

Assume a 180-day season for illustration:

PeriodGlobal TVLDurationContribution to the final average
First half$100 million90 days$100M × 90 ÷ 180 = $50M
Second half$200 million90 days$200M × 90 ÷ 180 = $100M
Full season—180 days$150 million

The final Season Average TVL is $150 million, activating a 40 million OVER Reward Pool.

Although TVL ends at $200 million, it was not at that level for the entire season. The ending balance does not replace the time-weighted average.

Reading the value during the season

During VISION, the displayed Season Average TVL represents the contribution to the final average already accumulated. The calculation uses supply history from the start of the season up to the current moment, but still divides by the entire season duration.

note

The denominator is not the time elapsed so far. The displayed value is therefore neither a rolling average nor a projection of future participation.

For example, if global TVL stays at $100 million for the first 30 days of an illustrative 180-day season:

Accumulated contribution = $100 million × 30 ÷ 180 = approximately $16.67 million

At that point, current TVL is $100 million, but the contribution already accumulated toward the final average is approximately $16.67 million. More contribution accumulates as supply remains outstanding.

When capital exits, it stops contributing from that point onward. Its contribution from earlier periods remains included; leaving does not erase the time it already spent in the protocol.

From the pool to your allocation

Season Average TVL determines how much OVER is available for the season, not how much an individual participant receives.

Of the final Reward Pool, 95% is allocated proportionally to participants’ Total Scores, and 5% is reserved for individual and team leaderboard prizes. Your Final Allocation combines your score-based share with any applicable prizes.
