### What unstake does

The user redeems staking shares, the protocol computes the corresponding amount of overlaid asset using the current exchange rate, and returns the base overlaid asset. Unstaking is governed by internal accounting and does not require withdrawal from the external venue.

### When to use unstake

Use unstake when:

* You want to stop participating in yield.
* You want to return to the liquid overlaid asset.
* You do not want to exit all the way back to the underlying stablecoin.

### How to unstake

1. Open the **Stake/Unstake** section from the side menu.
2. Click **Unstake** for the asset you want to unstake.
3. Enter the amount.
4. If this is your first time, click **Approve** and confirm the approval in your wallet.
5. Click **Unstake** and confirm the transaction.
