### What stake does

The user deposits the overlaid asset into the staking contract and receives the staking representation. Yield accrues through the exchange rate rather than through rebasing balances.

### When to use stake

Use stake when:

* You already hold an overlaid asset.
* You want yield participation.
* You are comfortable moving from the liquid base asset into the staking representation.

### How to stake

1. Open the **Stake/Unstake** section from the side menu.
2. Click **Stake** for the asset you want to stake.
3. Enter the amount.
4. If this is your first time, click **Approve** and confirm the approval in your wallet.
5. Click **Stake** and confirm the transaction.
