# How Points Work

> How VISION points are calculated: Base Staking Points from Farming deposits, additive boosts, Additional Points and the Total Score used for rankings and rewards.

VISION points measure your participation in the Farming Season. They come from two components: **Base Staking Points (BSP)** generated by eligible Farming deposits, and **Additional Points** earned through referrals, team leadership and selected ecosystem activities.

Boosts increase your BSP production. Additional Points are added separately, without boosts. Together, they contribute to your **Total Score**, which is used for rankings and reward allocation.

## Base Staking Points

BSP accrue while capital remains deposited in an eligible **Farming** position. The amount generated depends on the deposited value, the position’s point rate and the time elapsed.

**Holding an asset in your wallet is not enough.** Minting an Overlaid Asset or obtaining its staked representation prepares the asset; depositing it in Farming starts its point production.

The initial rates are:

| Eligible Farming position | BSP per $1,000 per day, before boosts |
|---|---:|
| Direct Overlaid Asset position | 5 |
| 50/50 Overlaid Asset / other token liquidity position | 3 |
| Staked Overlaid Asset position | 1 |

New pools may be added and future point rates may change during the season. Only enabled Farming positions qualify.

## Calculating your points

For a period in which the eligible deposited value and point rate remain unchanged:

**BSP = (eligible deposited value ÷ $1,000) × daily point rate × time in days**

Points accrue according to **elapsed time, not the number of blocks**. A position held for half a day therefore generates half the points it would generate over a full day under the same conditions.

Active boost percentages are added together to determine the multiplier:

**Staking points after boosts = BSP × (1 + total boost)**

For example, an active **2.5% OG boost** and a **5% Origin Dolphin boost** give a total boost of **7.5%**, corresponding to a multiplier of **1.075**. The two bonuses are not multiplied by one another.

### Worked example

Assume you deposit an eligible base Overlaid Asset position valued at **$2,000** for **10 days**, at a rate of **5 BSP per $1,000 per day**. Your total active boost is **7.5%** throughout that period, and you receive **20 Additional Points** separately.

| Component | Calculation | Points |
|---|---|---:|
| BSP before boosts | $2,000 ÷ $1,000 × 5 × 10 | 100 |
| Staking points after boosts | 100 × 1.075 | 107.5 |
| Additional Points | Awarded separately; no boost applied | 20 |
| **Total Score** | **107.5 + 20** | **127.5** |

**The boost increases the 100 BSP, not the 20 Additional Points.**

This example assumes that the eligible deposited value, point rate and active boosts remain unchanged for the full period.

## Changes to your position or boosts

Adding capital increases future point production. Withdrawing capital stops production on the withdrawn amount, but **does not erase points already generated**. A partial withdrawal reduces future production while the remaining eligible capital continues generating points.

Boost changes also apply from their effective point onward. A claim or accounting checkpoint records the points accrued under the previous configuration before the new boost configuration takes effect.

Some boosts are already active; others require a claim/checkpoint before activation. **A newly activated boost does not retroactively increase points earned before it became active.**

Points still pending at the end of the season are included in finalization even if you have not manually harvested them. Claiming or recording points is separate from claiming OVER after the season.

## Additional Points

Additional Points recognize activity beyond your own Farming deposits. They can come from eligible referral activity, team leadership, transferred early-phase points and selected community or ecosystem programs.

These points contribute to your score but **are never multiplied by your boosts**. The conditions for earning them depend on the relevant mechanism or activity.

Joining a team and leading one therefore have different effects: an eligible member receives a BSP boost, while the leader earns Additional Points from eligible member activity. Referral benefits similarly distinguish the invited user’s boost from the inviter’s Additional Points.

## Reading My Season

Open **VISION → My Season** to review your points and positions. The page separates **Staking Points**, **Additional Points** and **Daily Production** beneath the main **Your Points** figure.

**Your positions** lists your Farming positions and their point production. The **Staking points boost** panel shows the boost breakdown, while the **Additional points** section identifies the separate contributions displayed for your wallet.

Point balances and positions are maintained separately on each participating chain. Check the selected network when reviewing your activity.

### Projected rewards

**Projected Rewards** is an estimate of your OVER allocation, not a balance already available to claim. The final allocation depends on the season’s Reward Pool, your relative Total Score and any applicable leaderboard prizes.

Points therefore have **no fixed exchange rate into OVER**. Your allocation can change as participation and the reward pool evolve.
